Think green
How can an environmentally conscientious but stressed-out bride make being green part of her special day? The Sierra Club has some ideas.
•

Beautiful alternatives to blood diamonds (those mined in war zones and fund conflicts) include
vintage rings, lab-created diamonds, or even wooden bands.
•
Minimize travel impact by having the ceremony and the reception at the same place.
• Use recycled, handmade or
tree-free paper made of hemp, kenaf or organic cotton for invitations. A wedding blog can let people know about the bachelor/ette parties, rehearsal dinner and gift registry.
• Base your menu around
local, organic and seasonal foods. Rent real glassware, dishware, and linens instead of using disposables.
• For your honeymoon, consider
staying local or taking a trip that benefits an environmental group.
