SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

Horizon Arts Group is announcing the launch of its second annual scholarship program. Each summer, the Horizon Arts Group Scholarship Foundation awards 4 scholarships to Solano County residents for undergraduate, vocational, or community college study. The types of talents awarded are performing artists (all areas of singing (i.e. opera, musical theatre, pop), music (i.e. string instrument, piano, wind instrument), dance (i.e. ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop, folk), and acting) and visual artists (all areas of painting, sculpture, drawing, and textiles.)

The award is disbursed in early September, provided the recipient conforms to the requirements set forth in the award. The recipient may select any major. Fairfield, Vacaville, Suisun, Rio Vista, Dixon, Vallejo, Benicia, and Vallejo residents all qualify.

Applications must be postmarked and mailed by May 23, 2008. Scholarship applications, information and details may be obtained by email, mail or given by an instructor. PERFORMANCE: MISSOULA CHILDREN'S THEATRE

The June 21 production of Missoula Children's Theatre's Sleeping Beauty is inviting participants ages 5/6 (entering first grade) through 18 to apply. Rehearsals are June 16-21. For audition information, please email evy@nvoh.org after April 1.

Solano County Library Foundation’s event connects local authors with local readers and aspiring authors. This year's event will be held in Vallejo on Sunday, July 20.
